    President
    John Castanho


    John Castanho has been a registered member of ILWU Local 10 since 1986.  He currently serves as the President of BALMA since 2019 and as a Board of Director since 2016.  John previously served as BALMA's Secretary, as well as a member of the Board of Directors, in the 1990's along side long time President, Frank Cresci.  His interests include protecting our dispatch hall and property, advocating for member's healthcare, disability, and retirement benefits, and promoting the union movement.


    Vice President
    Trevyn McCoy


    Trevyn McCoy has been on the waterfront since 1991. He also serves on the boards of the ILWU Local 10 Executive Board, Investigating Committee, Promotion Committee, Grievance Committee and a delegate for the Caucus and Convention. He has been the Financial Executive Captain of the ILWU Local 10 Drill Team since 2000. Trevyn was instrumental in the revival of the ILWU Local 10 Drill Team in 2000 and organized the 40th Anniversary of the Drill Team in 2004. In 2002, Trevyn was elected as a BALMA Board of Director and in 2003 he was appointed as a BALMA Trustee. Since 2017, he has served as the Vice President of BALMA. His mission is to preserve the legacy and strengthen the Union on the values of being trustworthy, honest, fair, humble, and creative. Trevyn shows respect to others by taking into consideration how decisions may affect others. Trevyn prides himself on showing respect and care for others while building relationships and empowering the team.




    Treasurer
    Michael Villeggiante


    Mike Villeggiante has been on the waterfront since the 1970's and a member of the ILWU Local 10 for over 30 years. He's also been a BALMA Board of Director for over 25 years. Mike is passionate about preserving the legacy of Local 10, labor rights and providing education and support to the workers on the waterfront.


    Secretary
    Ed Henderson


    Ed “Pi Double I” Henderson is a first-generation longshoreman who arrived on the waterfront in 2001 is known to be a loyal, dedicated, hard worker, compliant to rules, and eye that sought out trouble. Was an active participant as a casual and involved himself in union activities and committees as a Class B member in 2004. In October 2006 promoted to Local 10 rank and file and ran for all committees. With the aspiration of becoming Local 10 President someday, he ran for committee chair in the political arena as an officer. He was the chairman of the Student Council from 2007-2021, 8-time Business Agent, 2-time Secretary-Treasurer, 2-time Caucus Delegate, 11-time JAPC Chair, LRC Representative, and many years as an active Steward on the docks. Ed is a very passionate person when it involves his actions as a worker and dedicated to the duty of the locals. Ed takes high pride and serves and set examples for others. He is also a stickler for the rules and very vocal about those who pride themselves in violating the rules. “As a leader of the local, you run through many obstacles and challenges from the members and cannot be faded by them. Rank and file elected me as a Board of Trustee, and I am appointed as Secretary of BALMA, a duty that I will resume again this year.”
